About The Position

This role is for a Facilities & Equipment Reliability Technician in an Ophthalmic Manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate thrives in highly automated, lean/continuous-flow environments and possesses strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and controls issues. Responsibilities include performing scheduled preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing equipment, supporting site maintenance (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, basic PLC), disassembling and reassembling equipment, handling minor electronic repairs and calibrations, managing maintenance data in Megamations, and assisting in training teammates. The role also involves partnering on process improvements and leading by example in safety and company policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 1+ year of relevant experience.
  • Experience in automated, lean manufacturing.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting using electrical schematics, multimeters, and OEM manuals.
  • Ability to resolve issues remotely with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Basic PC literacy and solid math fundamentals.
  • Mastery of safety procedures, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out.
  • Physical capability to lift 50–100 lbs., stand/walk continuously, and frequently lift from waist, shoulder, and overhead.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of related maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled PMs and keep lines running to meet production needs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and controls issues with urgency.
  • Support plumbing, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and basic PLC tasks.
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment to spec.
  • Handle minor electronic repairs, alignments, and calibrations; verify daily set-ups.
  • Enter/analyze maintenance information; manage PMs, work orders, and tool tracking in Megamations.
  • Assist the maintenance team leader in training both maintenance and manufacturing associates.
  • Partner with the Total Quality Facilitator on process improvements.
  • Be consistently punctual (including breaks/lunch), follow company policies, and promote safety—especially Lock-Out/Tag-Out.
  • Take on special projects and additional responsibilities as needed.
