About The Position

Qorvo is seeking a Facilities Equipment Operator to monitor and operate the Facilities Central Utility Plant (CUP) and support equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring the continuous operation of manufacturing processes by maintaining essential facilities systems. The operator will be responsible for responding to alarms, performing system checks, conducting basic maintenance, and ensuring a clean and organized work environment. This position requires a high school diploma, trade experience, and the ability to work independently and troubleshoot effectively.

Requirements

• High School Diploma is required
• Must have experience with operating utility plant equipment including boilers, chillers, air systems, cooling towers, DI water system, IWW industrial wastewater treatment plant, plant vacuum systems, toxic gas monitoring, closed loops water treatment, and electrical distribution.
• Applicants must have basic computer skills
• Good written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Good with troubleshooting skills

Nice To Haves

• Applicable trade AA preferred
• Previous utility plant operation preferred
• 4+ years of trade experience/licensing desired
• Maintenance experience on boilers and chillers desirable
• Emergency Response Team experience
• Data collection and Assessment desirable

Responsibilities

• Monitor & Operate Facilities Central Utility Plant (CUP) and support equipment including the following: Boilers, Chillers, Air Systems, Cooling Towers, DI Water System, IWW Industrial Wastewater treatment plant, Plant Vacuum Systems, Toxic Gas monitoring, closed loops water treatment, Electrical Distribution, etc
• React to Facilities system alarms and take necessary corrective actions to prevent impact to manufacturing operations (ITP's)
• Collect and interpret data collected from Facilities equipment during shift walks to ensure proper operation of the Facilities systems and identify potential problems
• Perform some system repairs and maintenance. Respond to trouble calls as needed
• Perform 6S of your assigned areas
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed
