About The Position

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Support Services, the Facilities Engineering Manager provides direction and supervision for the day-to-day and planned activities of the Maintenance Engineering Group. This role involves troubleshooting building system operations for current and potential maintenance problems, maintaining equipment histories, and reviewing plans and specifications. The manager oversees repairs and construction projects related to maintainability and life cycle costs of building systems and components, provides oversight and direction to the preventive maintenance program, and recommends improvements to building systems based on data and engineering best practices. The normal schedule is 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, but is subject to changes in shift, hours, days, and/or location as operations dictate. In accordance with the Disaster Preparedness and University State of Emergency Policy 6.17, this position has been designated as a standby position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related technical field or equivalent
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Contract management background
  • Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical equipment and systems
  • Knowledge of building standards
  • Knowledge of building systems maintenance
  • Knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, lubrication techniques and materials
  • Knowledge of measurement equipment and related recording systems
  • Understand and interpret technical instructions
  • Plan reading

Nice To Haves
