About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring the facility is maintained and improved through project management, identification of needs and execution of plans. The Facilities Engineer coordinates and manages contractors to ensure all MESH and regulatory requirements are met, acting as the site single point of contact for all contractor management opportunities. The role leads all Facilities related activities for the Asheville site to ensure seamless flow of operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in manufacturing environment.
  • All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Arden, NC to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), databases).
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and demonstrated leadership skills with ability to work with people from all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with Lean tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management or industrial engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an industrial maintenance role.
  • Knowledge of cost estimating and cost out skills/tools.
  • Knowledge and application of problem solving tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Project management with attention to detail and organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Asheville site for all Facilities related activities to ensure seamless flow of operations.
  • Ensure all contractors are managed per Eaton's contractor management guidelines to ensure safe and timely execution of projects.
  • Manage maintenance contractor to ensure plant equipment is promptly repaired and maintained.
  • Maintain site heating and cooling systems and oversee HVAC contractor.
  • Own and lead Plant and Equipment Capital Budget for Site.
  • Work with project owners to prioritize and drive project execution in a timely manner.
  • Request, assess, and validate quotes to ensure projects are executed within budget and meet all code requirements.
  • Manage the site janitorial and groundskeeper service provider.
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) to manage all facilities related tasks and contractors.
  • Own Tier F process and implement process checks and layered process audits for facilities related items (e.g. machine preflight check lists, preventative maintenance tasks).
  • Lead MESH Champion Element(s) for Carolina Star and Internal MESH requirements.
  • Lead Business Continuity Plan and risk reduction opportunities to plan contingencies for any potential business disruption.
  • Use Eaton Lean System / Continuous Improvement Framework Tool in order to drive continuous improvements.
  • Ensure processes meet Environmental, Safety and Health (MESH) & regulatory requirements.
