About The Position

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Facilities Engineer for their Manufacturing team. This is a purely telecommuting/work-from-home position where the employee can reside anywhere within the U.S. The role is responsible for developing and executing Program Facilities Change-Over Plans for New Model Programs, managing funding transfers and re-allocations, and supporting financial accountability for programs and projects. Key responsibilities include project close-out, bid specification development, procurement of conveyor commodities, and developing on-site construction facilities plans and layouts. The engineer will also develop special safety, environmental, and emergency response requirements, support field engineering for installations, and manage the Facility Launch Plan, including site run-off reviews and training. The role also involves leading the project close-out process, including documentation and spare parts recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Architecture, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • 6 years of experience using computer CAD Autodesk.
  • 6 years of experience performing 3D spatial modeling.
  • 4 years of experience working in plant manufacturing, including onsite support within facilities for conveyor, demolition, and construction activities.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Facilities Management Professional (FMP) Certification.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Program Facilities Change-Over Plan for responsible New Model Programs.
  • Direct funding transfers and re-allocation due to Program Change Requests for responsible New Model Programs.
  • Support Body Leader and Facilities Implementation Supervisor for overall program and project financial accountability.
  • Responsible for final project close-out and BCE Facilities Exit Checklist completion.
  • Develop bid specifications and clarification for Conveyor Commodity procurement.
  • Develop on-site construction facilities plan and layout, including contractor offices and storage requirements, utility tie-ins and capacity, Ford personnel on-site support facilities, and contractor lay down areas.
  • Develop special safety, environmental and emergency response requirements.
  • Support development of bid specifications and clarification leading to PO Award for Conveyor and related facilities.
  • Responsible for field engineering and supporting for conveyors and facilities installation in compliance with Ford Motor Company ProTAG process.
  • Responsible for Facility Launch Plan, including "site run-off" review and acceptance, baseline data acquisition and plant personnel training.
  • Lead project close-out process, including verification and storage of as-built documentation, receipt and storage of maintenance documents and spare parts recommendations, buy-off book(s) and related documentation.
