About The Position

The Facilities GAC & Process Piping Engineer is responsible for the design, operation, reliability, and continuous improvement of facility mechanical and process piping systems, especially the Gas and Chemical (GAC) systems supporting semiconductor manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Systems Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of industrial facilities, utility systems, process piping, or semiconductor manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience with utility system design, operation, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Knowledge of piping design practices, materials, engineering standards, and construction methods.
  • Strong communication and project coordination skills.
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability for facility system performance.
  • Collaborate effectively across operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills such as Six Sigma, 8D, 5 Whys, DMAIC, etc.
  • Prioritize work effectively in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Semiconductor manufacturing facilities experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Arizona or ability to obtain registration within a 3 year period.
  • Experience leading capital projects and managing contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, expand, and improve facility process piping systems supporting Fab and related manufacturing operations.
  • Provide conceptual, preliminary, and detailed engineering designs for facility infrastructure and manufacturing tool installation projects.
  • Serve as system owner for IWT and FWT waste water systems, special solvent and chemical waste collection systems as well as Specialty Gas and Process Chemical delivery systems.
  • Perform engineering calculations supporting capacity analysis, cost reduction and life cycle cost evaluations, and capital project justification.
  • Develop system studies and engineering evaluations for replacement, upgrade, debottlenecking, and expansion projects.
  • Coordinate with operations, project managers, contractors, and suppliers to execute projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Support facility reliability efforts through root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review construction, installation, and maintenance activities for compliance with engineering standards and design intent.
  • Prepare and review P&IDs, isometrics, layouts, specifications, and construction packages.
  • Support commissioning, startup, optimization, shutdown planning, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Provide technical leadership during outages and emergency response situations.
  • Prepare presentations and engineering reports for management review.
