About The Position

Role Summary Flywheel Energy is seeking a senior Facilities Engineer to support facility design, capital project execution, and infrastructure development for our Eagle Ford asset. This role focuses on front-end engineering, project support, and technical oversight of surface facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs aligned with Flywheel standards. The position works closely with engineering, operations, and integrity teams to support long-term asset development and value creation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of facilities engineering experience in upstream oil and gas operations.
  • Recent experience in facility design calculations and capital project support.
  • Demonstrated experience working with third-party engineering firms and contractors.
  • Strong understanding of surface facilities systems (oil, gas, and water) and applicable regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Eagle Ford or South Texas operating experience.
  • Experience with midstream interfaces, pipelines, and water infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting facility standardization, reliability, or integrity programs.
  • Strong project economics and cost-control mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support front-end engineering, design development, and execution support for new facilities, expansions, and major facility modifications.
  • Capable of independently running and reviewing facility design calculations.
  • Develop project scopes, cost estimates, equipment specifications, and technical evaluations for capital projects.
  • Review and manage third-party engineering and design deliverables to ensure quality, consistency, and constructability.
  • Serve as a technical authority for surface facilities, including separation, compression, dehydration, measurement, tank batteries, SWDs, and water systems.
  • Support standardized facility designs and continuous improvement initiatives based on asset needs and lessons learned.
  • Support facility and pipeline integrity initiatives, including MOC reviews and risk mitigation planning.
  • Identify opportunities to improve capital efficiency, facility reliability, and lifecycle costs.
  • Support debottlenecking and capacity expansion projects to enable production growth.
  • Collaborate with Production Engineering, Midstream, I&E, and Field Operations teams to ensure alignment from design through execution.
  • Coordinate regularly with the Gonzales field office to align engineering solutions with field execution.
