About The Position

The Facilities Engineer will report directly to the Facilities Maintenance Manager and is responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all facility maintenance infrastructure functions within a manufacturing environment, driving reliability, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across the facility. The Facilities Engineer partners closely with external vendors to support operational goals, manage risk, and scale facility capabilities in alignment with company growth, while playing a key role in developing maintenance strategies, overseeing capital projects, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and facility operations, including maintenance systems and infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, with the ability to interpret and implement requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, solve complex problems, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and ethical approach.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external partners, including vendors and regulatory agencies.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident in compliance with ITAR regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance program database, ensuring all PM records are accurate, current, and audit-ready. Share information with Maintenance Manager to ensure work is completed in a timely manner by having suitable supply of required components on hand.
  • Monitor equipment performance and maintenance metrics to drive reliability and continuous improvement within the PM Database, NCR App, and develop Maintenance KPI’s within Power BI.
  • Manage maintenance inventory, including evaluation of stock levels, ordering, and optimization of reorder points.
  • Own execution of the calibration program for all facilities equipment and manufacturing equipment
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment requiring maintenance and calibration, including location, status, and due dates
  • Ensure all maintenance activities and calibrations are completed on time and equipment is available for scheduled activities
  • Remove from service any out-of-calibration equipment and coordinate disposition with Quality Assurance (including lock-out-tag-out as required)
  • Store records of all maintenance, and submit all calibration records and certificates to Quality Assurance for the calibration register
  • Ensure equipment is properly installed, protected, labeled, and safe for use
  • Support investigations of out-of-calibration conditions, including facility & system impact
  • Work with Accounting team to ensure fixed assets are correctly added/removed after disposal
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Conduct audits, address non-compliance issues, and maintain required documentation for inspections.
  • Coordinate the proper disposal of waste materials, including oil, chemicals, and other regulated substances.
  • Serve as a co-key contact for regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and municipal entities.
  • Lead the development and execution of facility safety programs, including serving as Chairperson of the Safety Council.
  • Oversee safety initiatives such as fire drills, emergency response planning, and incident prevention efforts.
  • Ensure proper management of MSDS documentation and safety training programs, including CPR and First Aid.
  • Partner with HR and leadership to implement and maintain physical security systems and protocols.
  • Manage relationships of external vendors and sub-contractors with Maintenance Manager, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Support vendor qualification in collaboration with Facility Maintenance Manager, Purchasing, and Quality teams.
  • Lead and coordinate capital projects, including planning, budgeting, and execution.
  • This will include capacity and utilization studies
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
