About The Position

The Facilities Engineer / Specialist II will serve as the Area Engineer supporting a designated plant operating area. This position requires strong technical ability along with effective communication, facilitation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. The role involves evaluating and providing feedback on discipline-engineering work performed internally and by contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with company specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. It also facilitates the effective execution of engineering and design activities that align with team objectives and procedures, and ensures accurate and timely communication among the project team and other company functions regarding engineering activities, progress, and issues.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering specialty; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
Strong knowledge of engineering design standards, specifications, codes, and applicable safety criteria.
Plant or facilities engineering experience supporting operating equipment and equipment reliability.
Experience with pressure equipment, piping, static equipment, rotating equipment, tanks, repairs, alterations, or plant modifications.
Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, operations, site personnel, and contractors.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English, particularly for technical and business communications.

Responsibilities

Serve as the Area Engineer for a specific plant operating area.
Work with Facilities Engineers, Site Contacts, Lead Engineers, Operations personnel, and contractors to support the assigned area.
Develop knowledge of and exposure to other areas of the plant.
Conduct monthly facilities surveillance and monitor area-driven KPIs.
Provide engineering and reliability support for plant pressure equipment, including piping, static equipment, rotating equipment, and tanks.
Support plant modifications and changes.
Provide engineering support for equipment repairs and alterations.
Provide engineering support during plant shutdowns.
Evaluate engineering work for compliance with company specifications, engineering standards, applicable codes, safety criteria, and regulatory requirements.
Communicate engineering progress, issues, recommendations, and required actions effectively.
Adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequently changing priorities.
