StraCon Services Group, LLC is seeking Part-Time, Facilities Engineer, Senior (FMS) at NAWCTSD in Orlando, FL. NAWCTSD is the Navy’s principal center for modeling, simulation and training systems technologies. The Facilities Engineer, Senior will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Essential Job Duties: Analyze user needs and requirements. Create use cases describing how users will interact with products. Collaboratively prepare performance specifications describing the functions designed products will perform when developed. Conduct trade studies, identify and present options. Conduct feasibility studies and costs analysis. Prepare cost estimates; Evaluate proposals. Recommend the best technical approach. Clarify engineering design ambiguities, highlighting areas of design deficiency, and resolving conflicts in proposed engineering technical approaches. Evaluate and comment on design approaches, criteria, and designs. Document the configuration, design, and performance characteristics of proposed systems. Assess engineering performance and recommend appropriate action when delinquencies or deficiencies occur. During the operational phase of the training system life cycle, research and coordinate with fleet personnel, in-service engineers, support activities, laboratories, and system users to analyze requirements for potential modification of systems. Ensure the configuration of developing systems is managed using a configuration management system. Monitor and assess hardware and software development status. Identify problems during development and provide recommendations as to how to resolve these problems. Resolve programmatic issues. Review proposed test criteria and test procedures. Propose technical solutions. Evaluate deviations in material, processes, performance characteristics and testing parameter variances. Evaluate trade-offs concerning maintainability and reliability. Create implementation independent logical designs that will achieve the user’s needs. Create implementation specific physical designs for production. Prepare detailed specifications identifying specific design requirements for functions, performance, and interfaces. Design products for military applications. Create designs using computer aided design software. Use computer aided design software for design verification. Ensure designs and products comply with safety and regulatory standards. Determine the degree of simulation fidelity necessary to ensure that designs are cost-effective and will satisfy training objectives. Prepare technical descriptions of engineered designs using assigned view templates. Develop and implement quality control measures products. Prepare status reports of products under development. Fabricate products. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during project development to ensure products meet design requirements. Design and develop test equipment and test programs. Prepare test procedures for designed or modified products. Perform tests in accordance with the test procedures. Conduct analyses to ensure that test results satisfy user requirements. Record test results, deficiencies, and observations using the assigned issue tracking system. Evaluate systems under test for performance, reliability, and satisfaction of requirements. Prepare test reports and other technical documents. Troubleshoot and solve issues. Develop quantitative criteria and recommend tradeoffs regarding inputs received from supporting personnel concerning product changes. Identify and analyze facility requirements to ensure requirements are satisfied. Coordinate with facility engineers to determine where products are to be installed. Coordinate with facility engineers to ensure power, safety and HVAC requirements are satisfied. Evaluate products and recommend modifications. Inspect and maintain equipment, instruments, and systems to make sure they meet safety standards and applicable regulations. Effectuate team meetings and engineering reviews by providing input on functional requirements, operational characteristics, designs, product development, and schedules.
