Discover more at Lam Benefits Job Descriptions: Job Description Essential Function: Plans, directs, and coordinates activities around all maintenance equipment. Provides technical expertise and project management for various equipment undertakings. Specifically, this position will focus on the CNC troubleshooting, repairs and controls of existing equipment and lead the design of new equipment. This position may also focus on other manufacturing equipment such as robotic systems.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline (B. S.) with 8 years of experience; or a HS Diploma or equivalent with equivalent years of experience.
PLC experience required.
AutoCAD, CMMS, ERP, Microsoft applications, Database software knowledge and experience required.
Demonstrated experience implementing various manufacturing improvements including 5S, TPM, SMED and Lean principles.
Strong project management skills.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
Excellent written, verbal and customer service skills required.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a manufacturing plant maintenance role is preferred.
5-axis CNC experience is preferred.
Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures, as appropriate.
Contributes to the implementation of various manufacturing improvements including 5S, Lean, etc.
Interface with operations and engineering personnel to improve product quality, compliance, safety, reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
Manage large capital projects up to $1M and large equipment installations.
Be a technical resource for the department (CNC)
Incorporate multiple disciplines (electrical, quality, production, design) to create solutions.
Analyze maintenance data to identify trends in equipment and performance.
Troubleshoot unscheduled maintenance and equipment failures.
Perform root cause analysis and take actions to improve equipment and processes.
Make recommendations on actions that can be taken to reverse adverse trends.
Create maintenance procedures and policies for new equipment.
Create a culture of best practices sharing.
Provide technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs and evaluating equipment.
Optimize equipment uptime, reliability and efficiency.
Focus heavily on the CNC troubleshooting, repairs and controls of existing equipment.
Determines feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.
Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials; conferring with equipment vendors and; soliciting observations from operators.
Evaluates maintenance programs (preventive, predictive, TPM & FMEA) ensuring minimal equipment downtime by analyzing maintenance processes and recommending preventative maintenance programs, as well as drive process improvements.
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Tests newly installed equipment/machinery ensuring vendor fulfillment of contract specifications.
Create maintenance procedures and policies.
Develop and administer training programs for maintenance techs.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and training; establishing personal networks.
Flexibility to come in on off-shifts for training or information gathering.
Carry out special projects and all other additional duties as assigned.
Subject to call-in during off-shift and weekends as needed
Attend specialized training and cross train on the job for all maintenance activities plant wide.
Reports to the Facilities Manager.
Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S.
Demonstrate ownership of continuous improvement ideas and activities.
Maintain organization and cleanliness, housekeeping and 5S within work area.
Maintain these areas at the highest degree possible while responsibly escalating any maintenance issues.
