The Facilities Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving electrical systems and equipment within a manufacturing facility. This role is within the facilities team and supports production operations by ensuring electrical systems, machinery, and plant infrastructure operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, company standards, and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Journeyman Electrician License Required
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency with electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, megohmmeters, and clamp meters.
  • Understanding of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to support all aspects of facilities maintenance and operations, including electrical, mechanical, building, and general maintenance activities, as required by business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial or manufacturing electrical maintenance experience.
  • Experience with PLC platforms.
  • Experience troubleshooting VFDs, HMIs, and automated production equipment.
  • Knowledge of HVAC controls, compressed air systems, and facility infrastructure.
  • Arc Flash and NFPA 70E training.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical issues using testing equipment, meters, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain and repair motors, motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), control panels, transformers, switchgear, and distribution systems.
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs for facility and production equipment.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations to minimize production downtime.
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Install and modify electrical wiring, conduit, lighting systems, receptacles, and power distribution equipment.
  • Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and ensure compliance with all safety requirements.
  • Assist with equipment installations, facility upgrades, capital projects, and machine relocations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation within the CMMS system.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, contractors, and other maintenance personnel to complete projects and repairs.
  • Inspect equipment and facilities to identify potential safety hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, and company safety standards.
