This position is multi-faceted and will include aspects of project and contract management, technical engineering and design, financial planning and programming, and stakeholder collaboration and communication. The role involves assuming ownership of electrical project portfolios, managing pre-award and post-award contract functions, driving design reviews, and overseeing the complete electrical lifecycle for facility renovations. The engineer will serve as the electrical technical authority, providing expert analysis and recommendations for systems operating from 208V up to medium voltage (15kV class). Responsibilities also include leading electrical studies for energy management and facility modernization, enforcing compliance with electrical standards, preparing financial plans for electrical systems, aligning infrastructure planning with development plans, and conducting research on facility condition indexes. Effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders, including engineers, architects, managers, customers, and high-level leaders, are crucial. The role requires translating complex engineering concepts for non-technical audiences and partnering with electrical shops to integrate feedback on constructability and reliability. The engineer will also respond to mission interruptions, troubleshoot systems, and write work tasks for corrective repairs.
