About The Position

The Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa in Stamford, Connecticut is searching for an energetic, driven, and passionate Facilities Director to join their team during a significant transformation of the property. This role is an opportunity to be part of a major hotel reinvention and to shape the future of an iconic property that is undergoing a $50 million renovation. The Facilities Director will be responsible for the maintenance and engineering operations, infrastructure, and building systems for both the hotel and an adjacent apartment building. The position ensures operational reliability, asset preservation, regulatory compliance, capital project management, budgeting, and team training to achieve exceptional guest experiences in line with Marriott standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or Construction Management.
  • 10+ years of progressive facilities, engineering, or property operation experience covering Hotel and Apartment complexes.
  • 5 years of experience as Director Engineer or Facilities Director.
  • Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the hotel and apartment building's preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Oversee Capital Expenditure, including planning, budgeting, and project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including fire life safety and environmental requirements.
  • Drive energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost control initiatives.
  • Collaborate with renovation project leaders, vendors, and contractors.
  • Lead and coordinate the opening of the Marriott hotel and apartment building post-renovation.
  • Maintain a preventive maintenance program to ensure optimal functionality of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Partner with the General Manager and Dolphin Hotel Management ownership on departmental operational needs.
  • Conduct monthly building inspections and safety walkthroughs to identify and address potential maintenance issues.
  • Make complex business decisions and utilize contract knowledge.
