About The Position

The hands-on Facilities Director is responsible for maintenance and engineering operation, infrastructure, building systems including hotel and apartment building adjacent to each other. This position ensures operation reliability, asset preservation, State regulatory compliance, capital projects, budgeting and training of engineering team for operational excellence to achieve exceptional guest experience as per Marriott Hotels Engineering and Maintenance facilities safety standards and brand consistency. This role is part of a major hotel reinvention with a $50 MILLION TRANSFORMATION UNDERWAY, repositioning the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa into one of the market’s premier destinations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, facilities management.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and relevant software/tools.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation and efficiency.
  • Occasional lifting of equipment or materials related to engineering projects (up to 25 lbs).
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk or in meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Hotel & Apartment building preventive and corrective maintenance program.
  • Manage Capital Expenditure, planning, budgeting and project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, including fire life safety and environmental requirements.
  • Drive energy efficiency, sustainability and cost control initiatives.
  • Work closely with renovation project leaders, vendors and contractors.
  • Lead and coordinate opening of the Marriott hotel and apartment building after renovation.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance program to ensure optimal functionality of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical system of the building.
  • Partner with the General Manager, Dolphin Hotel Management ownership for operational needs of the department.
  • Conduct monthly building inspections and safety walkthrough to identify and address potential maintenance issues.
  • Responsible for complex business decisions and contract knowledge.
  • Any other job responsibilities assigned by the General Manager.
