About The Position

The City of Saratoga Springs is seeking a Facilities Custodian for a part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week. This role is responsible for performing routine custodial duties to ensure that facilities are clean, safe, attractive, and secure. The position operates under the specific direction of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and the general direction of the Office & Facilities Administrator, with all employees under the general supervision of the City Manager.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older
A High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Two (2) years' of experience working in custodial fields, building maintenance, or a related field
Must possess a valid Utah Driver's License.
Industrial cleaning / custodial duties
Cleaning methods and supplies
Simple record keeping
Custodial safety practices and procedures
Work independently
Meet deadlines and schedules
Be highly attentive to detail
Safely operate janitorial equipment and machines
Climb ladders and balance without assistance
Understand verbal and written directions and instructions
Organize and follow through with multiple custodial projects of various complexity at the same time
Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with staff and the general public
Maintain a safe and clean environment
Adhere to best safety practices and comply with OSHA mandates
Pre-employment drug testing, proof of employment eligibility, and background check required.

Responsibilities

Performs custodial and cleaning services such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash containers, dusting furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
Cleans interior windows, and cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, locker rooms, kitchens, and break rooms.
Polishes fixtures and fills dispensers.
May be required to work outside of regular business hours as needed for emergency cleanup and repairs or scheduled maintenance work.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
