About The Position

Parallel Employment Group is working with a customer in Lancaster, NY, to find a Facilities Custodian for the 2nd shift. This role is crucial for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning workplace for all employees and visitors. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to supporting this mission through thorough cleaning, upkeep, and facility support across the company's buildings and grounds.

Requirements

  • Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, as needed

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in offices, production areas, break rooms, restrooms, and common areas.
  • Clean, disinfect, and sanitize high-touch surfaces and equipment according to health and safety protocols.
  • Empty trash and recycling bins; manage proper waste disposal per safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain building exteriors and grounds, including light outdoor cleaning and trash removal.
  • Restock and monitor cleaning and hygiene supplies throughout the facilities.
  • Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and reporting maintenance issues.
  • Support the preventive maintenance program in collaboration with the maintenance team.
  • Operate and maintain push or ride-on floor scrubbers in high-traffic areas.
  • Contribute to snow removal and sidewalk salting duties as needed for 2nd shift.
  • Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements in compliance with the.
  • Report safety hazards or quality concerns promptly to the supervisor.
