About The Position

The University Corporation is a non-profit auxiliary corporation providing commercial and administrative services to California State University, Northridge. Our mission is to provide services and solutions that address the needs of California State University, Northridge; to support the academic, research, and creative endeavors of its students, faculty, and staff; and to enhance the quality of campus life. Under general supervision of the Facilities Supervisor, performs general cleaning functions including bussing dining tables; picking up trash from the floor; emptying trash cans and disposing into the dumpster; maintaining the restrooms; cleaning windows and glass doors; cleaning walls and mopping floors. Periodically shampoos carpet and buffs floors using appropriate cleaning equipment and cleaning agents according to sanitary and safety procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

A High School Diploma.
Six months of full-time related experience.
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment used in cleaning.
Ability and specialized skills to: read, write, understand directions, and perform simple arithmetic calculations at a level appropriate to the duties assigned; provide services in a courteous and pleasant manner; learn and apply departmental/store policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
