About The Position

The position of Facilities Cleaning Tech is responsible for performing timely cleaning and assisting general repairs as necessary, maintenance, and preventive maintenance needs of the facility, grounds, and equipment. This role involves adhering to a sanitation and cleaning schedule checklist in accordance with OSHA and industry-specific guidelines, performing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning requirements, and maintaining various areas of the facility. The technician will also be responsible for ensuring the security of buildings and reporting any safety concerns.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent OR four years of high school AND two years of related work experience OR three years of high school AND four years of related work experience OR two years of high school AND five years of related work experience with an established business organization.
  • For substitutions, the candidate must be able to pass a competency-based skills and comprehension test.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Minimum of 1 year of janitorial experience in a healthcare setting; preferably.
  • Ability to effectively resolve conflicts.
  • Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Lifting approximately to 10-30 lbs., Pushing, Pulling - sometimes
  • Stooping, Bending, and Standing - sometimes
  • Walking- frequent; short distances
  • Hand Dexterity- manipulate hands/fingers for cleaning.
  • Hearing - must be able to hear within a normal range for safety and direction.

Nice To Haves

  • Janitorial experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to a sanitation and cleaning checklist in accordance with OSHA and industry-specific guidelines.
  • Performs daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning requirements, including vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, cleaning walls and light fixtures, and replacing light bulbs.
  • Maintains lobby, waiting rooms, and other clinic areas, including cleaning glass entry and reception areas.
  • Cleans spills and/or accidents following proper protocol and guidelines.
  • Reports maintenance needs to Facilities Lead and/or Director of Facilities.
  • Surveys facility, grounds, and equipment and reports issues.
  • Maintains the outside of the facility by raking debris, cleaning sidewalks, and keeping entry areas clear of trash and leaves, paying attention to safety during inclement weather.
  • Performs routine daily checks of thermostats, air/heat flow, and interior and exterior lights for proper working conditions.
  • Responds to overhead calls.
  • Ensures the security of buildings through locks and security system at the beginning and end of each business day.
  • Keeps Facilities Lead and Director of Facilities informed of any safety concerns.
  • Responds to emergency problems if applicable to job functions.
  • Maintains skill and safety level to operate numerical calculations, cleaning equipment, precision tools, and manual and finger dexterity.
  • Performs other cleaning duties upon request.
  • May be asked to deliver packages, supplies and/or documents to an assigned site.
