About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician II is responsible for maintaining the functionality of buildings and grounds. This role involves executing preventive and corrective maintenance work orders, supervising contractor work, troubleshooting and repairing building-related items, managing facility contracts, and supporting project work such as repairs and upgrades to floors, walls, doors, roofing, and plumbing. The technician will also be responsible for issuing and completing job hazard analyses and safe work permits, using a Computerized Maintenance Management System to document activity, following Standard Operating Procedures, and adhering to cGMP, Safety, and Environmental procedures. Maintaining training curriculum requirements and communicating clearly and professionally are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in relevant technical field
  • 4 years’ relevant experience
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to make decisions within agreed upon area of responsibility
  • Proficiency in most areas of responsibility
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities as defined in previous job level

Responsibilities

  • Execute Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Work Orders; determine course of action and oversee to completion
  • Supervise contractor work in the completion of projects and facility repairs/preventative maintenance
  • Responsible for troubleshooting/repair/preventive maintenance of all building-related items throughout facility
  • Manage ground maintenance/janitorial/extermination and other facility contracts
  • Support Project/Shutdown work such as (floors, walls, doors, roofing, plumbing) repairs and upgrades/alterations
  • Issue/complete job hazard analysis/safe work permits, permit to work forms (hot work, excavating, confined space, hazardous atmosphere, etc.)
  • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System to document activity
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures to perform job duties
  • Adhere to cGMP, Safety, and Environmental procedures
  • Responsible for maintaining training curriculum requirements (GTP)
  • Communicate clearly, concisely and professionally in written and verbal form
  • Perform all responsibilities as defined in previous job level
  • May perform training of other technicians in areas of proficiency as needed
