About The Position

The Washington Ballet is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Facilities Associate to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, artists, faculty, staff, and visitors. This part-time position works primarily during evening hours to support classes, rehearsals, and organizational operations. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, enjoys working independently, and is committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility.

Requirements

Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities experience preferred
Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks effectively
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
Dependable with a strong attendance record
Ability to communicate professionally with staff, students, artists, and visitors
Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize dance studios, classrooms, offices, restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and maintain floors and surfaces
Empty trash and recycling containers and properly dispose of waste
Restock restroom and custodial supplies
Clean windows, mirrors, doors, and other glass surfaces
Set up and break down rooms for classes, rehearsals, meetings, and special events as needed
Report maintenance, repair, or safety concerns to management
Follow all organizational safety procedures and cleaning protocols
Perform periodic deep-cleaning and special projects as assigned
