About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of custodial and light maintenance duties in and around FBEM facilities and ensures efficient and safe operations that comply with Feeding America & AIB/Safe food handling practices & procedures. This position will also ensure superior customer service to all internal team members and other stakeholders of the organization. All activities will support the organization’s mission, culture and strategic plan objectives.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Entry level
No experience necessary
Ability to read and write English and perform basic mathematical functions.
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs, with two-man lift.
Ability to speak clearly over the phone and walkie-talkie radio.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, handle interruptions, maintain focus on tasks and produce accurate work.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to understand and comply with Feeding America & AIB/ Safe Food Handling Practices & Procedures.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain a positive work environment in alignment with the FBEM core values.
Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures.
Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors.
Complete dusting of common areas, and meeting rooms.
Empty/clean wastebaskets and recycling containers throughout building.
Refill restroom dispensers.
Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors.
Use and maintain assigned equipment and hand tools.
Wash walls and equipment; use ladders and extension poles when required in work assignments.
Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.
Wash windows, remove fingerprints, clean shades.
Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and stairs in areas within sixteen feet of buildings, using hand-operated tools or small power equipment.
Handle cleaning and maintenance of conveyor belt, trash carts and dock plates.
Assist with pest control activities and removal/resetting of traps as needed.
Launder cleaning rags and dust mops.
Vacuum and shampoo rugs, carpets, flooring materials as needed.
All other duties as assigned.
