About The Position
The Facilities Assistant position will maintain safe and efficient operations of all recycling functions at the plant. This position requires to operate a sit-down forklift to complete recycling operations.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of warehouse operations
- Organizational, multi-tasking and time-management skills
- Oral/written communications
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly
- Willing to work any shift, weekends, and some holidays
- Able to work in a very cold (36 °F) and wet environment
- Flexibility to work all shifts as needed
Nice To Haves
- Operate sit-down forklift (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Foster a safety culture that creates a work environment where no one gets hurt
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices
- Assists in developing solutions to specific problems through continual process improvements
- Strong teamwork attitude and communication skills
- Facilitate cross department requirements and support
- Facilitate all recycling operations including loading/unloading trailers
- Sort and segregate recyclable items from trash
- Operate a compactor, bailer, and forklifts
- Perform wooden pallet repairs as need
- Maintain recycling work centers and outside of the facility
- Train teammates and new members to the recycling team
- Complete additional tasks/duties as needed or directed
