About The Position

Zipline’s Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing teams need safe, reliable facilities to build and operate autonomous delivery systems. As Facilities and Workplace Supervisor, you will own day-to-day facilities execution for the South San Francisco site, reducing preventable downtime and keeping spaces ready for engineering, logistics, manufacturing, and workplace use. You will set maintenance priorities, coordinate technicians where applicable, and hold service providers accountable for scope, quality, cost, and schedule. You will own facilities execution and maintenance-program improvements while partnering with internal stakeholders, contractors, and consultants on site needs and capital improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of facilities management experience in a light-industrial, commercial, aviation/drone, or technology environment.
  • Hands-on experience coordinating repairs, maintenance, and upgrades for building systems, grounds, and site infrastructure.
  • Experience delivering or supporting facility capital improvement projects, including contractor coordination, documentation, permits, and project records.
  • Experience managing service vendors or contractors, including scope definition, performance evaluation, cost control, and issue resolution.
  • Working knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance programs, facilities safety practices, and hazardous materials or hazardous waste compliance.
  • Ability to make sound maintenance-priority decisions across competing operational needs with minimal guidance in a multi-site or operationally complex environment.
  • Ability to work onsite in South San Francisco and travel up to 10%, including occasional travel to Half Moon Bay; able to provide remote facilities support for test sites and locations outside California.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize repairs and maintenance across building systems, grounds, and site infrastructure based on safety, operational impact, reliability, cost, and urgency.
  • Coordinate building technicians where applicable and external vendors; define work scope, track service KPIs, and address quality, schedule, or performance gaps.
  • Manage facilities, custodial, grounds, catering, valet, and workplace-service contracts, including purchasing, invoice reconciliation, service quality, and cost control.
  • Assess facility and infrastructure risks and improve preventive and corrective maintenance programs to protect site readiness and reduce avoidable disruption.
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, and service providers for repairs, maintenance, and upgrades to interior, exterior, and grounds systems.
  • With EHS oversight, supervise hazardous materials and hazardous waste compliance programs, maintaining required records and adherence to applicable safety and environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate facilities portions of capital improvements with internal partners: IT/Finance/Production/Finance etc and external partners like contractors and consultants; maintain drawings, permits, project records, and documentation for current and future facilities.
