About The Position

This position supervises department personnel in the daily maintenance and repairs of the property, ensuring the cleanliness, upkeep, and maintenance of all buildings and grounds. The role is responsible for maintaining areas through preventative maintenance programs, project coordination, prompt issue response, and effective workflow management. The supervisor will coordinate duties, scheduling, capital projects, and safety issues, and will oversee emergency situations such as power outages, alarms, and flooding. This role involves developing policies and guidelines, maintaining emergency procedures and equipment, monitoring equipment and utilities, and evaluating employee performance. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for interviewing, training, selecting, and scheduling employees, as well as handling disciplinary actions, payroll, inventory, and purchasing procedures. The role requires accountability for department walk-throughs, special cleaning projects, and maintaining cleanliness standards, along with responding to employee complaints. The supervisor plans, supervises, and monitors the work of team members, maintains department inventory, and keeps a daily shift log. The position requires adherence to the Everyone Greets Everyone (EGE) policy, participation in mandatory meetings and pre-shift sessions, and the ability to work collaboratively with co-workers. A professional appearance, adherence to attendance guidelines, and compliance with all policies and procedures are expected. The role requires the ability to respond to visual and aural cues.

Requirements

  • Ability to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, dust, loud noises and bright lights.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, team building and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle demanding situations.
  • Ability to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Must present a well-groomed, professional appearance.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job.
  • Complies with all state, federal and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to converse, read, and write English.
  • Preference given to qualified Iowa tribal members and members of other federally recognized tribes.

Nice To Haves

  • Five years of experience in casino maintenance and customer service preferred.
  • Minimum two years supervisor or lead experience in EVS/Housekeeping, or related field preferred.
  • Experience supervising large work teams a plus.
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of cleaning chemicals, cleaning techniques, and cleaning equipment.
  • Knowledge of HAZZ, COMM and BBP is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all cleaning operations and department personnel during assigned shifts.
  • Supervise the cleaning and follow-up of facilities and equipment.
  • Contribute to and assist in the evaluation of employee performance reviews.
  • Administer all new hire training.
  • Manage scheduling, disciplinary actions, payroll, and inventory and purchasing procedures.
  • Conduct department walk-thrus and oversee special cleaning projects.
  • Maintain department cleanliness standards.
  • Respond to and handle employee complaints (grievances) in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Plan, supervise, and monitor the work of team members in assigned area(s).
  • Maintain and control department inventory (paper goods, chemicals, equipment).
  • Maintain daily shift log indicating employee incidents, irregularities, and information for subsequent shifts.
  • Participate in all mandatory meetings and pre-shift BUZZ sessions.
  • Adhere to the Everyone Greets Everyone (EGE) policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
