About The Position

This position works with a variety of stakeholders from across the Faculty to ensure that space and facility requirements are proactively managed to address the changing curriculum, technology, and special initiatives of these diverse areas. The facilities include research studios, laboratories, performance spaces, offices, classrooms, commons spaces, and all other Faculty space and occupy over 58,000 sq metres of space across fourteen buildings. The position is also responsible for managing a planning process for the renewal of capital requirements across the Faculty, including the space, facilities, and equipment necessary to effectively deliver Faculty programs. The position also has responsibility for the security, and health and safety initiatives of a diverse and complex set of stakeholders with a broad range of requirements.

Requirements

  • Internal candidates and former employees of the University of Alberta will be given priority consideration.
  • The position has a term length of 18 months with the possibility of extension.
  • This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person work at North Campus, Edmonton.
  • Reporting to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that space and facility requirements are proactively managed to address the changing curriculum, technology, and special initiatives of diverse areas within the Faculty.
  • Manage a planning process for the renewal of capital requirements across the Faculty, including space, facilities, and equipment.
  • Oversee the security, and health and safety initiatives for a diverse and complex set of stakeholders with a broad range of requirements.
