The YMCA Y Mind Teen program is an early intervention, evidence-based program which supports young people aged 18– 30 experiencing symptoms of mild to moderate anxiety to learn coping strategies and connect with peers in a safe and encouraging group environment. The Y Mind Facilitator will co-lead this psychoeducation and support group with one other facilitator to help participants learn about their anxiety and discover helpful coping tools through creative activities and discussions grounded in mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The Y Mind Youth program meets for 2.5 hours weekly for 7 weeks. Two Y Mind facilitators are responsible for the intake and screening of 12 group participants, co-facilitation of the program, and delivery of the program. Reporting to the Y Mind Teen & Youth Supervisor, the Y Mind Facilitator will work collaboratively with other staff and participants. If program participants require additional support, the Y Mind Facilitator will provide appropriate community referrals.
