Under the direction of the Coordinator of Social Work Services, and in alignment with the Howard County Public School System’s (HCPSS) Strategic Plan, the Facilitator of School Social Work Services and Behavioral Health Supports will provide professional oversight, mentorship, and consultation to school social workers as well as support with coordinating and enhancing district-wide initiatives by utilizing specialized training in mental health, school culture and climate, and social-emotional learning. The Facilitator will also support School-Based Mental Health Services and the coordination of new services (Early Childhood Mental Health and Substance Use Prevention and Intervention Services) in alignment with the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. In addition, the Facilitator will support the implementation of Medical Assistance (MA) billing for mental health services provided to students not receiving special education services. This position has an anticipated start date during the 2026-2027 school year. Applicants currently employed with another Maryland public school system are responsible for verifying eligibility for release for this non-supervisory position if selected.
