About The Position

The Quality Child Care Matters (QCCM) Facilitator is responsible for creating a network of family child care providers and ensuring that they have the support and resources needed to continue to provide high quality care and education to the children in their homes. The QCCM Facilitator will provide mentoring, coaching, training, technical assistance, and support to family child care providers. The QCCM Facilitator is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Education or related field
At least three (3) years of experience training, mentoring and coaching teachers or adult learners
At least two (2) years of experience working in or with childcare centers
Experience with Texas Rising Star, Texas Child Care Licensing or other equivalent standards
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
Sex offender registry check
Federal and state background checks
Employee health testing
Sustained concentration and ability to handle multiple tasks often simultaneously.
Knowledge and background of pre-school children.
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Demonstrated success in handling confidential information.
Ability to follow the daily classroom schedule.
Ability to successfully engage with children and parents.
Ability to handle stressful and sensitive situations in a professional manner.
Ability to work independently and maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Ability to exercise tact and discretion in all interactions.
Ability to perform duties and adapt to flexible work schedules as established by management
Able to lift and/or carry 30 to 50 lbs.
Intermediate math skills required.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills in the use of the Windows, Internet Search Engines, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Agency Software and Programs, etc.
Must have dependable transportation, valid driver’s license, proof of current insurance coverage, and be able to be insured by AVANCE’s guidelines.
Independent, self-starter with a positive attitude

Responsibilities

Providing direct implementation of QCCM curriculum to family child care providers, as needed
Recruiting licensed and unlicensed family child care providers, working closely with AVANCE’s local partners and other agencies
Facilitating virtual and in-person trainings and offering professional development to ensure licensing standards are being followed, appropriate policies/procedures are in place, and best practices in early childhood are implemented to help providers improve the quality of their care
Visiting providers at home to conduct assessments and offer one-on-one program support, such as curriculum planning, model lessons, mentoring, coaching, guided practice and feedback, goal setting, and other support as needed
Provide small-group and individual coaching to enrolled family child care providers
Communicating and coordinating across family child care providers as well as any external resources
Linking providers to community resources and supports
Organizing and leading ongoing network meetings that work with family child care providers’ schedules
Keeping detailed records of all interactions with providers
Implementing network services based on national research and data from local providers
Continuously improving the QCCM curriculum and network services based on data from needs of local providers, and national research
Managing data collection, analysis, and evaluation
Implementing data-informed decision-making to support training strategies and to make program improvements
Problem-solving and collaborating with providers to design responsive strategies
Reporting on QCCM program activities and key performance indicators
Become a certified TECPDS trainer, and work to ensure that AVANCE becomes a certified training organization
Communicate with leadership on programmatic status, updates and any concerns regarding the implementation of the QCCM program
Participate in assigned meetings, events and training as required
