About The Position

Responsible for working collaboratively with administrative staff in schools, faculty, and other district staff to enhance and encourage the implementation of academic needs based on schools' needs analysis. Working with school staff to support an engaging learning environment, school and district initiatives, and monitoring student outcomes in order to support data driven instruction.

  • Is knowledgeable of Title-I Schoolwide Program Requirements under ESSA- School Improvement Plan
  • Is knowledgeable of evaluation and accountability processes
  • Is knowledgeable of principles of effective management, and engaging instruction which enhances school success
  • Is knowledgeable of Response to Intervention Processes
  • Is knowledgeable of principles of teaching and learning- evidence- based interventions
  • Is knowledgeable of Data Analysis Techniques
  • Is knowledgeable of Effective classroom management strategies
  • Is knowledgeable of Effective strategies for fostering a positive school culture
  • Is knowledgeable of Professional learning community organization and protocols
  • Is skilled at public speaking, writing, listening, problem solving, and working with individuals and groups through the coaching cycle
  • Is skilled at research and use of instructional technology/ data analysis
  • Is skilled at teaching and awareness of curriculum scope and sequence for respective grade levels
  • Is skilled at working innovatively and self-motivated
  • Is skilled at establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Is skilled at working with students, parents and community stakeholders
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Rhode Island driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the District
  • A valid Rhode Island teaching certificate
  • Experience at the middle school level
  • Experience in collaborating with colleagues in a mentoring role

Responsibilities

  • Works with teachers in the capacity of co-teacher, planning, analyzing student data outcomes, and implementing instructional shifts directly tied to district and school initiatives and needs assessments.
  • Works with all content area teachers in order to support school wide academic strategies
  • Collaborates with the fellow Intervention Facilitators across the three middle schools as well as the Office of Teaching and Learning to implement school improvement goals
  • Collaborates with the Principal and School Improvement Teams to implement school wide goals and monitor progress on said goals
  • Supports communication with parents and guardians regarding student academic achievement.
  • Supports the implementation of schoolwide reform strategies and action steps aligned to School Improvement Plan's Academic Goal?
  • Reports out and communicates goals and measured outcomes on data including sub groups of students
  • Maintains records of academic resources and planning resources provided to teachers and staff
  • Collaborates with the Guidance Department to ensure all students including sub-groups (e.g. Limited English Proficient students) are monitored for academic proficiency ?
  • Collaborates with faculty to plans that reinforce research based effective classroom management strategies
  • Assists teachers with effective classroom management strategies (e.g.: this could include modeling implementation for faculty, check in- check out,)
  • Serves as a resource to staff in supporting at-risk students academically
  • Assists in the writing of grants that are related to student resources and performance opportunities
  • Develops positive recognition programs to reinforce a positive school climate that is student focused and encourages student participation
