About The Position

This is a full-time union position scheduled to work 28 hours per week. This is a fully on-site position with no remote or hybrid options, due to funder and role requirements. Position Summary Under the supervision of the Regional/Site Manager, the Facilitator & Mentoring Coach – Youth Employment (0.8 FTE) delivers integrated youth employment, pre-employment, and mentoring services to youth participants facing multiple and/or complex barriers to employment. This role provides structured employment and pre-employment services, as well as mentoring and coaching supports, to youth aged 15 to 29, including newcomers, refugees, individuals with foreign trade experience, persons with disabilities, individuals facing language barriers, people living with mental health challenges, and Indigenous youth. The position combines direct service delivery with the coordination of a structured mentoring program. Responsibilities include intake, employability assessments, Employment Action Plan development, one-on-one employment and career counselling, and facilitation of structured pre-employment workshops as part of a minimum 60-hour pre-employment training component. The role also delivers guided mentoring services that support youth participants in achieving personal, educational, and career development goals through mentor relationships and targeted coaching support. In addition to direct service delivery, the position is responsible for coordinating and implementing youth mentoring programming, including participant assessment, mentor matching, coaching, group sessions and event facilitation, employer engagement, and collaboration with multiple partners. The role supports outreach activities, employer engagement efforts, community partnerships, program planning, training coordination, and internal team alignment to ensure seamless and effective service delivery. Operating within a networked, performance-based service delivery model, the position works closely with community agencies, employers, and stakeholders to ensure consistent program implementation, strong participant engagement, and effective service integration across partners. The role is accountable for achieving program targets, maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring data integrity and system compliance, and adhering to program, funder, and quality assurance requirements. The position contributes to continuous program improvement through monitoring, reporting, participation in governance and performance review structures, and ongoing collaboration with internal and external partners to enhance service quality, outcomes, and participant success.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Social Services, Career Development, Youth Services or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with organizations providing services for youth, employment services, and/or community development.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in youth mentoring / matching mentors and mentees, youth agencies, community development, building partnerships including but not limited to settlement agencies, universities and colleges
  • Experience recruiting Mentors and large companies for networking events
  • Demonstrated experience working with youth populations, including those facing barriers to employment or education.
  • Experience coordinating programs and working with multiple stakeholders, including community agencies and employer partners.
  • Experience recruiting and supporting mentors and facilitating mentor-mentee relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of youth development principles, coaching methodologies, and mentoring best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of job search strategies, employment programs, and labour market trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct assessments, develop employment plans, and facilitate group coaching and training sessions.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using case management systems and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Fully on-site position with 100% in-office presence, five (5) days a week. No hybrid or remote work options due to funder and position requirements.
  • Experience and knowledge of case management and client information systems, including systems such as CaseFLO, FFAI, CaMS / EOIS CaMS, CIS, and related internal tracking systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email.
  • Knowledge of virtual collaboration tools including MS Teams and Moodle.
  • Knowledge of online employment tools and web-based resources.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new systems and technologies.
  • Must be willing to provide itinerant services and work regularly across multiple locations throughout the GTA, based on program and partnership requirements
  • Required to provide a valid Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) Police check completed within the past 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct client services and carries a small caseload, including follow-up activities and support toward job placements.
