About The Position

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC, is seeking Mandarin, Cantonese, and/or Chinese Interpreters for face-to-face interpretation assignments. As a contractor, you will use your language skills to assist individuals during medical, social service, and other types of appointments. This role offers a flexible schedule with good pay and is a rewarding way to utilize your bilingual abilities to help those in need. Assignments are available 24/7/365, though most are requested during business hours. You can choose to take as many or as few assignments as your schedule allows.

Requirements

Located in the Central Ohio area.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Eligible to work in the United States.
Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check (fingerprint-based).
Pass a 10-panel drug screening.
Provide proof of program completion from an accredited interpreter training of at least 40 hours (e.g., Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters' "Access Academy", Court Interpretation, Certificate or Degree in interpretation from an accredited college or university).
Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or pay for and complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.

Nice To Haves

No previous professional interpretation experience is required.
English as a second language (ESL) speakers are welcome.

Responsibilities

Provide face-to-face interpretation services for medical, social service, and other appointments.
Utilize Mandarin, Cantonese, and/or Chinese language skills to facilitate communication between clients and service providers.
Manage your own schedule and select assignments based on availability.
