About The Position

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC, is seeking Russian, Ukrainian, and/or Uzbek Language Interpreters to join their team. This is a face-to-face interpretation role, not video or telephone. As a contractor, you will have the flexibility to choose your own schedule, with assignments available 24/7/365, though most are requested during business hours. This role is ideal for individuals looking for a flexible schedule with good pay, using their bilingual skills to assist others during medical, social service, and other types of appointments. The work is described as rewarding, helping those in need who speak the language or dialect you speak.

Requirements

Located in the Central Ohio area.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Eligible to work in the United States.
Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check based on fingerprints.
Pass a 10-panel drug screening.
Provide proof of program completion from an accredited interpreter training of at least 40 hours (e.g. Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters' "Access Academy", Court Interpretation, Certificate or Degree in interpretation from an accredited college or university).
Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or pay for and complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
Speak English and Russian, Ukrainian, and/or Uzbek.

Nice To Haves

No previous professional interpretation experience is required.
English as a second language (ESL) speakers are welcome.

Responsibilities

Assist others during medical, social service, and other types of appointments using language skills.
Take assignments as available.
Utilize bilingual skills to help individuals who speak Russian, Ukrainian, and/or Uzbek.
