About The Position

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC, is seeking Amharic, Tigrinya, and/or Oromo language interpreters for face-to-face interpretation services. As a contractor, you will use your language skills to assist individuals during medical, social service, and other types of appointments. This role offers a flexible schedule with good pay, allowing you to earn money based on the number of assignments you take. It is a rewarding way to utilize your bilingual skills to help those in need.

Requirements

• Located in the Central Ohio area.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check based on fingerprints.
• Pass a 10-panel drug screening.
• Provide proof of program completion from an accredited interpreter training of at least 40 hours (e.g., Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters' "Access Academy", Court Interpretation, Certificate or Degree in interpretation from an accredited college or university).
• Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or pay for and complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
• Speak English and Amharic, Tigrinya and/or Oromo.

Nice To Haves

• No previous professional interpretation experience is required.
• Speaking English as a second language (ESL) is welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face interpretation services in Amharic, Tigrinya, and/or Oromo.
• Assist individuals during medical, social service, and other types of appointments.
