About The Position

This role is responsible for fixing, repairing, and installing all refrigeration-related equipment in the plant. The position requires adherence to company core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The individual will perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration, heating, glycol, and hot water equipment, order parts, and ensure equipment is in proper working condition at all times. A key aspect of this role involves being prepared for emergencies, including passing a 24-hour haz-mat first responder course, its associated physical, and the ability to don and function in a scuba suit and wear a respirator. The role also includes maintaining office A/C, hot water systems, and related equipment, assisting with general floor maintenance, adhering to LOCK-OUT, TAG-OUT procedures, performing machine checks, ensuring preventive maintenance schedules are met, reporting equipment concerns to management, and training other refrigeration employees. The position holder must also comply with Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles and be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Vocational training in HVAC or Ammonia or in an apprenticeship program for at least 4 years
  • Denver County journeyman refrigeration license
  • Ability to read schematics
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Basic trouble shooting skills
  • Ability to work on and repair all ammonia refrigeration, heating and glycol systems in plant
  • Ability to follow P.M. schedules in a timely fashion
  • Must qualify as a first responder

Responsibilities
