About The Position

Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is now hiring Full-time Entry-Level Fabricators for an automotive Tier 1 supplier. This position involves working on new and exciting automotive prototypes in a variety of areas. The Full-time Entry-Level Fabricators will cut materials to size and shape and weld metal using hand tools and equipment such as band saws, material brakes, and material shears. The Full-time Entry-Level Fabricators will provide welding support for the garage shop services teams. The Full-time Entry-Level Fabricators will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions. This Full-time Entry-Level Fabricators position is based out of Allen Park, MI and offers AM and PM shifts and overtime when needed.

Requirements

Minimum 1+ years of fabrication experience in a professional or shop environment required
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic knowledge and ability to Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) or Metal Inert Gas (MIG) weld
Good communication skills and detail oriented
Knowledge to safely operate and use the Plasma cutter and Oxy-Fuel torch to cut out material
Knowledge to safely operate and use brakes, shears, and bench machines
Must have tools and rolling toolbox

Certificate in Welding Technology or related

Responsibilities

Weld instrumentation, exhaust tubes, and bosses
Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning with sanding disk and wire brushes to remove impurities such as scale, rust, grease, and moisture
Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions
Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up
