Fabricator - Swing Shift
About The Position
Key Technology, located in Walla Walla, WA, is a global leader in food processing technology, specializing in innovations for increased control, continuous processing, sorting, automated inspection, specialized conveying, and grading and sizing across various food products. The company is seeking a Fabricator to join their team. This role involves training or assisting on various machines and work centers, including cutoff saws, CNC and standard shears and brakes, rollers, presses, forming machines, CNC and standard whitney punching machines, and CNC plasma & punch machines, as well as belt, bench, and hand-held grinders. The primary function is to cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures. Safety is a top priority in all tasks, and the Fabricator will operate machines or work in centers under supervision.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Responsibilities
- Operates machines or works in work centers with supervision
- Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
- Frequently goes to different work centers to help where needed to assist in a one- or two-man operation
- Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction
- Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation
- Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece
- Stacks, marks, packs, and transports finished workpieces
- Properly uses barcode system to reflect time charged to jobs
