The Fabricator position involves performing a variety of punching and cutting operations to close and interrelated tolerances. This role requires interpreting complicated drawings, program sheets, and work orders to determine the work to be done and the forming sequences and dimensions of the finished workpiece. The Fabricator will load control disks, select and install punches, dies, and plasma nozzles, and position and secure material onto the machine bed. Responsibilities include manipulating controls, observing machine operation for malfunctions, changing components as needed, and performing inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards. The role also involves utilizing override controls to correct out-of-tolerance conditions, adjusting machine feeds and speeds, and discussing machining problems with NC programmers. Additionally, the Fabricator will remove slag or burrs, clean machines and tooling, perform machine maintenance, and operate either a plasma cutter or a brake press as a Numeric Controlled Machine Operator. All other duties as assigned.
