Requirements

  • Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints
  • Fabricating metal components or structures
  • Performing quality checks on finished products
  • Setting up fabricating machines
  • Designing custom templates
  • Performing mechanical, preventative, and basic corrective maintenance
  • Troubleshooting and correcting basic failures
  • Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school.
  • 3 + years’ related experience in maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions.
  • Working knowledge of production/package machinery.
  • Great sense of self-motivation
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Strong communication abilities in both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong emphasis in continuous improvement.
  • Displays good math, technical and decision-making skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Maximo computer software.

Responsibilities

  • Machining fabrication materials and components
  • Fitting, setting, and installing fabricated structures.
  • Cutting and welding with a variety of processes
  • Metal forming, bending, and finishing.
  • Repair, design, layout, and estimation
  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints.
  • Develop and design welding projects.
  • Inspect and test welds.
  • Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines.
  • Setting up metalwork machinery including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears.
