About The Position

Responsible for performing a wide variety of fabricating/assembling operations in accordance with engineering specifications. Openly accepts work assignments from Managers and Department Leads and understands the positive impact/outcome to the business. Considers multiple paths and applies knowledge and learnings to actively identify and provide solutions to contribute to quality and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintains a strong desire/willingness to enhance professional growth and assists in the development and training of coworkers.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
1 to 2 years Metal Fabricating experience (preferably on multiple types of machines)
Broad knowledge of sheet metal fabricating
Possess strong attention to detail and good math and reasoning skillset
Good verbal communication skills and ability to interact well with other employees
Proficient in blueprint reading, and use of measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, etc.
Professional attitude when approaching work assignments
Willingness to train and positively empower coworkers
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
Utilizes strong critical thinking skills to troubleshoot equipment and provide solutions with an executional mindset
Ability to be forklift certified if needed

Responsibilities

Prepares work to be accomplished by using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), blueprint specifications, and Product Structure list, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials
Set-up and operate sheet metal fabricating equipment in accordance with machine specifications
Responsible for accurate reporting of labor time, production quantities, inventory movements and scrap in ERP system
Responsible for meeting/exceeding production and quality goals
Considers multiple paths and applies knowledge and learnings to actively provide fact-based solutions that contribute to quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by using standard 5S
Use a variety of measuring instruments incidental to trade practices
Keeps equipment operational by keeping it clean and reporting any malfunctions or repairs needed
Responsible for performing the essential duties and responsibilities as requested/required
Ability to value another employee on his or her own capabilities
Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers and internal teams
