About The Position

The Fabricator role is a production position responsible for using metal fabrication techniques to bend, shape, weld, fasten and fabricate metal frames, rails, supports, etc. used in the manufacture of conveyance systems. The Fabricator responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, Support the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company Follow all safety guidelines and report any safety issues. Follow work instructions and procedures. Monitor quality as required per Ashland and ISO 9001 standards. Use data collection terminal or RF-Smart to log on/off jobs, transfer materials, and report pieces complete. Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job. Responsible for reading prints to layout and fabricate metal/aluminum product assemblies. Operate metal fabrication equipment, including, but not limited to; Mig Welder Press Brake Roll Former Grinder Drill Cold Cut Saw Iron Worker Using layout tools and measurement instruments to fabricate components to print specifications. Perform quality checks on parts. Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area. Report on issues, equipment malfunctions, or quality concerns. Maintain efficiency per work order standards. Other duties as assigned which may include assembly areas if necessary due to workload

Requirements

  • At least 2 years’ experience in fabrication steel and welding.
  • Ability to comprehend blueprints and work specifications.
  • Detailed approach to daily work activities
  • Basic understanding of mathematics as related to fabrication assignments.
  • Able to work in a team-oriented work environment.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn
