Fabricator (Day Shift)
About The Position
This role involves assembling and inspecting products, as well as creating parts. The Fabricator will be responsible for reading and following manufacturing and assembly drawings, prints, and instructions. They will adjust machines based on job specifications and material requirements, and safely and efficiently operate various fabrication equipment including a break press, plasma cutter, drill press, band saw, metal shear, MIG welder, lathe, mill, ironworker, and laser. The position also requires safely loading sheet metal into the laser cutter using an overhead crane system, removing cut parts, and assigning part numbers. The Fabricator must consistently produce parts and assemblies to specifications and pass quality/first article inspections. They will also operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hydraulic lifting equipment, accurately complete all paperwork, maintain housekeeping and organization of their area, and work safely in compliance with company and regulatory policies. Regular and predictable on-site attendance is required. Employees may be asked to take on additional responsibilities or work extra hours as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to utilize technology to set up and run the laser machine
- Experience tack welding, or willingness/ability to learn
- Ability to accurately read and interpret documents (ex: blueprints, instructions, etc.)
- Accurately read a tape measure to a 1/16” with ability to complete basic math equations
- Strong attention to detail and desire to produce high quality components
- Ability to safely operate an overhead crane to move materials
- Must be 18 years of age or older for insurance purposes
- Consistently push and/or pull 50 pounds
- Consistently bend at the waist and/or knees
- Consistently reach and/or twist
- Stand up to 100% of the workday
- Occasionally lift up to 75 pounds from floor to waist level
- Ability to tolerate varying environmental conditions including wet slippery conditions or extreme hot/cold; perform minimal duties outside, year-round
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience operating metal fabrication equipment
- Previous experience operating a forklift
- Previous experience operating a forklift, preferred; ability to pass in-house certifications, upon hire
