About The Position

This position will report to the Supervisor. The ideal candidate will fabricate, layout, position, align, fit, and weld parts of structural metal parts pipe layout including sanitary welding process. Requirements

  • High School/GED or two to five years’ experience in related field or combination of both education and experience
  • Candidates must have a verifiable history of safe vehicle operation and meet company standards for driving eligibility. This includes maintaining a clean driving record, which will be verified through a background check.

  • Able to competently weld stainless and carbon steel using MIG and TIG processes
  • Detail-oriented and enjoy working in a fast paced environment
  • Able to perform a broad range of duties
  • Good communication skills and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of basic mathematic skills
  • Pass and maintain forklift certification

Nice To Haves

  • Shear and break experience preferred but willing to train
  • Sanitary process piping experience
  • Orbital welder experience but willing to train

Responsibilities

  • Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits by following blueprints and layout specifications
  • Use MIG and TIG welders, plasma cutters, grinders and hand tools and settling torch
  • Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, levels, and measuring tapes
  • Tack-weld fitted parts together
  • Layout and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met
  • Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers
  • Locate, mark work piece bending, cutting lines; allowing for stock thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and other component specifications
  • Move parts into position, manually, with hoists, or cranes
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines such as, shear, Ironworker, drill press, pipe bender and band saw to bend cut, form, punch, drill or otherwise form and assemble metal components
  • Fit stainless and carbon steel schedule pipe, as well as sanitary process piping
  • Setup and operate orbital welder, facing machine, purging process & hand welding
  • Use aerial man lifts to install equipment and utilities
  • Other duties as assigned.
