About The Position

Safe Fleet, a leader in the truck equipment manufacturing industry, is looking for a Fabricator/Welder to work as part of a team fabricating, installing, and repairing Automated Tarp Systems. This is a full-time position responsible for on-premises tarp system fabricating, repair, and installation for the trucking industry. The qualified candidate must be a high energy, physical individual with experience working on triaxle truck bodies and semi-trailers in a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment. This individual will need to be motivated by a competitive industry and be results, detail, and team-oriented.

Requirements

Manual dexterity
Able to learn on the fly
Demonstrated ability to work professionally and productively with peers on production floor
High school education or equivalent
1 year of welding experience preferred

Nice To Haves

Certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Fabricates steel and other metal parts as indicated by the work order and blueprints.
Maneuver fabrication machines, such as grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears, and flame cutters to cut, grind, and adjust material.
Sets up and operates gas welding machines to weld metal parts according to work orders, blueprint layouts and verbal instructions.
Regulates flow of gases for proper mixture.
Cleans parts to remove contamination prior to welding.
Set up and operates all phases of brazing applications using clamps, fixtures and torches working to specified tolerances.
Selects proper flux.
Sets up and operates stick welding machines to repair, join or fabricate parts working with blueprints, sketches or verbal instructions.
Read a tape measure, use hand tools and semi automatic manufacturing equipment.
