About The Position

ADM Mechanical is seeking experienced Fabricator/Welders for their facility in Decatur, IL. This is a full-time, hourly position on the day shift, with the potential for overtime. The role involves fabricating equipment for capital projects and maintenance, requiring expertise in operating welding equipment, MIG welding on stainless and carbon steel, and the ability to read and work from blueprints. Safety and quality are emphasized, and colleagues will work in a team atmosphere. There is no out-of-town travel required.

Requirements

  • Able to work safely in a team environment and be quality conscience.
  • Able to be an excellent welder and capable to be trained to weld on ASME equipment.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Previous experience in welding and fabrication (stainless steel and carbon steel) is required.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate in English (verbal/written).
  • Exhibit regular and prompt attendance and maintain attendance record in accordance with company policy.
  • Ability and willingness to wear respirators.
  • Employees in roles that require respirators will need to be clean shaven.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, production and/or similar military environment is preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate welding equipment with minimal assistance.
  • Perform MIG welding on stainless steel and carbon steel.
  • Read and work from blueprints.
  • Work safely and emphasize quality.
  • Fabricate equipment for capital projects and maintenance.
  • Work in a team atmosphere.
  • Undergo on-the-job training for skills and certifications.
  • Complete ADM safety, food safety, quality, and environmental training.
  • Participate in company planner operations training.
  • Operate equipment and machinery, potentially at different heights, on ladders, scaffolding, or in confined spaces.
  • Lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds frequently, up to 55 pounds occasionally, and up to 50 pounds overhead.
  • Wear respirators as required.
  • Walk up to two miles during the workday over uneven ground surfaces and/or walking over railroad tracks.
