About The Position

GMG Fish Services Ltd., a division of Cooke Aquaculture Inc., is seeking Fabricators to join their team of plastic welders. The Fabricator – Plastic Welding is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, repair and finishing of plastic aquaculture cages and related components. This role involves working with plastic materials, tools, and equipment to produce high-quality, durable cages that meet design specifications, safety standards, and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble plastic aquaculture cages and components according to drawings, work instructions, and production schedules.
  • Fuse, cut, weld, form, and fasten plastic components using appropriate tools and equipment (e.g., fusion equipment, plastic welding, extrusion, hand and power tools).
  • Measure and inspect components to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
  • Perform finishing tasks such as trimming, grinding, drilling, and fitting.
  • Follow all quality, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Identify and report defects, damaged materials, or process issues to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
  • Properly handle materials and equipment to prevent damage or injury.
  • Operate and maintain fabrication tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform basic equipment checks and report maintenance needs.
  • Handle plastic materials (e.g., HDPE) and components according to specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with production team members, supervisors, and quality personnel.
  • Follow production priorities and adapt to changing work demands.
  • Assist with loading, staging, and preparation of completed cages for shipment when required.
