About The Position

The Fabricator is responsible for operating various fabrication machines, including cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punches. These machines cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures to meet production specifications.

Requirements

High School Diploma or (GED, or High School Equivalency Diploma).
1+ years of related experience or training in a similar role.
Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
Regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle tools, materials, or controls.
Strong attention to detail and ability to count and report parts accurately.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly.
Capable of standing for 8+ hours per day on a concrete manufacturing floor.
Strong ability to stay on task with minimal supervision.
Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work in other departments/areas as needed to meet business demands.

Nice To Haves

1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate Fab Shop and Machine Shop machinery and equipment.
Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
Set stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
Position workpieces against stops or align layout marks with dies or blades.
Activate machinery by pressing buttons or depressing pedals.
Observe machine operation to detect defects in workpieces or machine malfunctions.
Measure workpiece dimensions to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpieces as required.
Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions.
Other duties as assigned.
