About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Entry Level Fabricator I. The Fabricator I role is responsible for assembling case parts and products in the Fabrication Department using machinery and hand tools. This role requires compliance with all safety policies and procedures, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment, and performing job duties in a manner that follows Eaton’s Quality standards and systems. The Fabricator will assemble products using various types of equipment, interpret orders and drawings, conduct inspections, perform rework operations, replenish inventory, and maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas using Eaton’s 5S procedures.

Requirements

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• Must have a minimum of one year experience in a manufacturing related role with the use of hand and/or power tools (experience in automotive repairs, construction, carpentry, or other assembly type environments will be considered) or completion of a one-year Technical School diploma from an accredited institution.
• Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Williamsburg, VA will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
• Must not be on a written or a final written warning (Internal Only)
• Employees can apply and be awarded a new role but must have a minimum of 6 months service time in their current role before moving to the new role (Internal Only)
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to read and understand wiring schematics, blueprints, and drawings
• Able to move material as needed using material handling carts (push/pull 50lbs)
• Able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
• Team player and able to collaborate with others to effectively complete work assignments per customer orders
• Willingness to participate in training opportunities
• Practice good housekeeping to keep assigned work-area clean, organized, and orderly.
• Perform other duties as required including flexing to other departments

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with machine operator experience (grinders, resistance welding, and other metal working equipment)

Responsibilities

• Use hand tools, small power tools, or other special equipment to assemble products
• Interpret orders and drawings to determine procedures and conduct work according to drawing specifications
• Conduct inspection of parts and quality checks using a variety of measuring tools
• Perform rework operations as required
• Replenish inventory of fabrication department
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas using Eaton’s 5S procedures
