About The Position

The Foreman position is responsible for all activities that take place on their assigned job site. This role involves managing rigging crew activities, developing and implementing job plans in alignment with customer and sales direction, and directing the workforce to meet operational goals in terms of volume, cost, quality, safety, and schedule. The Foreman will directly supervise and work with machinery moving crews in a hands-on capacity, utilizing forklifts, skates, and jacks for machinery movement. A key aspect of the role is to develop, train, and instruct crews on best practices and safety procedures in rigging operations. The Foreman will also collaborate closely with safety personnel on training, accident investigations, and reporting. Building strong customer and employee relationships through excellent interpersonal and communication skills is essential, as is effectively managing job site projects by organizing all project information. The role requires consistent demonstration of professional conduct aligned with MEI's corporate mission, vision, and values, and the ability to drive to customer job sites to oversee all activities.

Requirements

  • Scheduling, co-ordinating and supervising the work of all site operatives, ensuring that all work is delivered safely on time and within budget along with managing equipment and materials required.
  • Minimum three to five (3-5) years proven machinery moving foreman experience or comparable field preferably within the construction, manufacturing or rigging or machinery moving industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, management, supervisory and project management skills.
  • Highly self-directed and motivated.
  • Must have extensive experience moving machinery with forklift, skating, leveling and anchoring of machines.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications and other business software (such as Wright Plan/CRM) as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all job site management activities of the rigging crew.
  • Develops, plans and implements crew and alignment with customer and salesmen with direction of job.
  • Directs workforce to meet operational goals in terms of volume, cost, quality, safety, and schedule.
  • Directly supervises and works with one or more machinery moving crews.
  • Hands on supervisory role with the ability to effectively move machinery utilizing forklifts, skates, and jacks (not cranes).
  • Develop, train and instruct machinery moving crews in best known rigging operation practices and procedures including safety.
  • Work closely with safety personnel in coordinating safety training, accident and injury investigations and reporting and equipment or property damage incidents investigations and reporting.
  • Build customer and employee relationships with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Develop highly effective relationships with customers, business partners, crating operations management, and support staff.
  • Effectively manage job site projects by organizing all project information to ensure they are accurate and contain all necessary information.
  • Consistently demonstrates professional conduct representative of MEI corporate mission, vision, and values.
  • Must be able to drive to customer job sites and work and direct all activates on customer job sites.
