Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to add and subtract using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Read a tape measure both in metric and standard.
  • Must be able to use calipers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (metguard boots, protective eyewear, hard hats, gloves, ear plugs, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up production area by reading sketches and designs to determine the configuration of the parts that are being made that day.
  • Modify or create programs as needed.
  • Operate CNC machines such as saws, brakes, panel masters and/or angle masters and other machinery that punch, cut, shape, bend or plasma cut different kinds of metal.
  • Compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures and outline sequence of operations required to machine part.
  • Revise program to eliminate instruction error or omissions.
  • Operate safety equipment and help provide a safe working environment by maintaining good housekeeping practices.
